The prospect of lithium battery recycling is promising

Waste lithium batteries are mainly composed of casing, positive electrode, negative electrode, electrolyte and separator. The positive electrode is composed of lithium cobaltate powder coated on both sides of the aluminum foil current collector through PVDF that acts as a bond; the negative electrode structure is similar to that of the positive electrode, consisting of carbon powder bonded to both sides of the copper foil current collector. For the recycling of waste lithium batteries, the commonly used waste lithium battery recycling methods include hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy and mechanical physical methods. Compared with the wet method and the fire method, the mechanical physical method of the lithium battery pulverizer does not require the use of chemical reagents, and has lower energy consumption, which is an environmentally friendly method. The physical separation method is a separation method based on the difference in material properties such as particle size, density, and magnetic properties of the material. It mainly includes screening, gravity separation, flotation, and magnetic separation. Firstly, vertical shredders, wind shakers and vibrating screens are used to classify waste lithium-ion batteries. After crushing and sorting, positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials, separators, current collectors, etc. are obtained.
